DURABILITY OF TENSILE FABRIC STRUCTURE –

Tensile fabric structures have existed for a very long time in the form of simple tent-like shelters; together, guy ropes and tent poles provide pre-tension to fabric, allowing the greater structure to withstand loads of wind, rain and snow.

Based on the unique combination of design materials (such as PTFE-coated fiberglass, ePTFE with a Fluoropolymer coating, and PVC membranes), construction, and environment, the longevity and durability of tensile membrane structures have been proven to last and withstand harsh and extreme climates and environments around the world.

The membrane material itself can withstand within the range of -40o C to +700 C. Companies of warranty for their fabrics and usually the minimum life span of these structures is about 25 years.

Due to its durability and longevity, tensile fabric structures are quite common as roofing and façade solution for Stadium and airport, where there is a need for low maintenance, high performance, and durable roofing solution.
